Day 5 (12 July 2014)

Went back to school for the International Orientation again. This time, headed to my hostel and started unpacking. Met my flatmates, 2 Iranian, 1 Singaporean and 1 Malaysian.

Lunch was at the Bush Court once again. Had hotdog! Nice.

After heading home for lunch and to rest, we went over to Caversham Wildlife Park at 3pm.

There was sheep shearing, whip lessons and cow milking! When it was nearing my turn to milk the cow, it pee-ed and shitted! The staff actually used a shovel to catch the shit from the cow.

Saw dingoes, really beautiful, feeding of Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, foxed, koalas, wombats, eagles and …. Birds.

Left at 5.30pm and drove to Perth City (it is like City hall). Parking is really expensive. AUS$15 for 2 hours.

Went for dinner at Hog’s Breath. Had steak and soup which wasn’t up to our expectations.. L Average cost of the steak is AUS$20.

Day 6 (13 July 2014)

My first visit to Fremantle (aka Freo). Bought Captain Cook Tours tickets at B shed for a boat ride from Fremantle to Perth City. Adult price: AUS$38. Student price: AUS$34. The shops at E shed sells really cheap souvenirs and has a large variety.

The boat ride was about 1hour long to Perth City. Saw many mansions (literally), some even costing up to AUS$56 million with a cinema, 6 acres of carpark, different houses for guests and the helpers to stay in. There is also the famous Blackwall Reach cliff diving site, but some say there are sharks there…. :/ We also had free wine tasting.

Walked around Perth City – Bell Tower & St Mary’s Cathedral. Had lunch at Subway.

My mum and I were walking and we saw dolphins in the lake! It was so beautiful. 

Once back at Fremantle, went over to Cicerellos for dinner. The seafood chowder is the bomb! It was so awesome, one of the bests. Seagulls often “sit” on your table.

Came home and watched How to Train Your Dragon (:

Day 7 (14 July 2014)

Woke up at 4.50am to watch World Cup, but Argentina lost L

Drove over to Garden City, which is a shopping mall in Perth. Went to JB Hi-Fi and K-mart to look for my USB-Ethernet cable but failed.

Went over to Bunnings at O’Connor, which is a mega version of Spotlight IMO. Went to Hungry Jacks (fast food) for dinner.

Headed back to my school to settle my unit enrolments and went back to Kardinya Square.

Day 8 (15 July 2014)

My parents left today L I never felt so alone before but at the same time, I really felt liberated.. everything has finally started to settle down and I had my personal space after going out with my friends/family for the past few weeks.

But anyway, we went to back to Freo to the Shipwreck Museum (free entry) and the Maritime History Museum (AUS$12). I personally preferred the Maritime History Museum as it tells you about how the maritime industry has grown and how they improved their equipments. There was also a shark talk which was nice. 

Had the best Fish & Chips in town at Kailis and it was really really really good. The batter was not too thick and the fish was soft. Damn perfect.

So this is the start of my 1.5 years in Perth. Thankfully, I wasn’t alone for the next few days as I had a nice housemate.. will update again!
