Margaret River travel itinerary
Day 1 (8 July 2014)

The horror when I'm packing.... All my 3 luggages were filled to the brim and I still had boxes of shoes to bring. D:

The last supper

To the friends and fam I will remember..

Reached Perth International Airport (T1) at around 7.30am. Terminal 1 is the only international terminal while T2, T3 and T4 are for domestic flights.

Had a super costly breakfast at the airport. 2 pies, 2 bread and 2 hot drinks @ AUS$50. :(

Went to collect our rental car from AceRental and the long journey to Margaret River begins! Because we brought so many luggages, we had to squeeze at the back :(

First stop, was a small town, Bunbury, which is surprisingly the third largest city in Western Australia. It was colder than expected so we went to seek warmth at RiversSuperStore

After walking around, settled for lunch at Buck's Diner.

Then we continued our 2 hour drive to Sunflowers Animal Farm in Margaret River

Many puppies cuddled together and sleeping. Too cute.

Checked into our room. It’s meant for 9 people and so it was really wow! I wanted to sleep on the beds outside cos it seemed cozy but my mum scolded me lol.

First activity, the tractor ride! It was a good experience. There were 3 border collies on the ride with us. 1 kept running around the tractor while it was moving, 1 was just sitting still and looking forward while another 1 kept licking us.

Took a little toy boat and we put it down the stream, seeing some of them capsized haha.

It was getting cold and they started a mini campfire. We plucked a branch from the tree, put our marshmallows through and BBQed.

Drove to Margaret River Town Centre, which is just 5 minutes away. There was very little food options so we just settled our dinner at Kappadokia Kebabs. The portion was huge! Even the salad was suitable for 2 people.

Went to Coles supermarket (like NTUC) for grocery shopping.

Day 2 (9 July 2014)

Woke up early to go for Animal Feeding! Guests were entitled to free flow of food buckets. Many families came here for animal feeding.

The buckets consisted of bread, grains, carrots, cabbages. Some of the animals dig for their favourite food while some aren’t picky and just eat everything.

Ice-cream in the old weather is surprisingly good. The ice-cream was really creamy and yummy, we had this very often over there. Tried the burnt caramel, white chocolate, old toffee, rum & raisin and crunchie monkey. All of them were really nice!

My first time starting a fireplace.

Simple home cooked food by my mum which I really miss! L Cabbage, eggs, soup, rice!

The Red Kangaroos were not caged and they were constantly hopping around, some even right in front of our unit like this one!

Just right outside our unit are goats and cows! There were out of the “Animal Feeding range” and so we fed them our cabbage heads and leftover carrots.

Went back to Margaret River Town Centre to walk around and a shop assistant recommended that we visited Prevally Beach, which is a 10 minutes’ drive away. It is also known as “Surfer’s Point” as it has one of the best waves.Unfortunately, we were too late for the sunset but we managed to catch it on the drive up.

Had a simple and satisfying dinner, salmon, omelette, rice, cabbage, soup. Knocked out at 8.30pm since there was nothing to do.

Day 3 (10 July 2014)

It was time to leave! L Fed the goats and dogs and also, the cow! Cow snot is eeew, black and slimy all over your hands.

Had my first long drive up to Brusselton. Visited the Brusselton observatory . It was AUS$2.50 entry to the observatory and it was almost a 1hour walk back and forth!! D: Sadly, it was closed due to the weather but it was a good walk. The observatory is where you’ll be in a glass “cage” and you will be lowered down where you can see all the marine life.

Drove over to Brusselton Town Centre, about 5 minutes away. Had lunch at Samovar which was recommended in Tripadvisor and was probably the only decent and affordable eatery. No wonder it’s recommended.. Lunch was disappointing… Had the smoked salmon pizza, squid, burder, 3 drinks for AUS$76 L It took super long to come too.

It was a long long journey back to Perth (3 hours) and when we reached our apartment, we couldn’t find the keys! We couldn’t contact the owner too until like 20 minutes later.. cold, hungry, dark. L It was AUS$570 for 4 nights, booked via booking.com

Had a simple dinner again, mushroom soup, mixed veg, pork, rice. Ate dinner while watching TV (something that will never happen in Singapore)

Day 4 (11 July 2014)
Went over to my school, Murdoch University for my International Orientation. They just talk about settling down in Perth, administration stuff and learnt the Aussie slang. Bloke means man, Sheila means woman, Barbie means Barbeque..

Finally had lunch @ 1.30pm at the Bush Court. Lunch was juicy beef slice in a bun. Sat on the grass and made some friends.

Drove over to Kardinya Square which is like the Tampines Mall to TP, Star Vista to SP. I always get my groceries there.

Shopped at K-mart/Coles for essentials, went home to have dinner and Zzzz… K-mart and Coles are owned by the same company. K-mart sells homeware like utensils, clothes, furniture etc. Coles sells groceries.
