#wentravelogue3 - Tokyo guide! 2

Part 1: http://backstagejuliet.blogspot.sg/2014/04/trip3-tokyo-guide.html

Day 6

Woke up pretty late, at around 6.30am.

Reached the Tsujiki Fish Market at around 9.30am. Many of shops with long queues. Didn't really bother to find the very popular shops, such as Daiwazushi.

Ended up at this random shop (Above) which had quite a queue.

I don't even eat sashimi. I don't like it. But because each person needs to order one set and my sister wants to eat sashimi, I ordered one set too.

Headed to Odaiba afterwards. It's popular for its DiverCity, AquaCity, Fuji TV Station, Decks and the real-sized Gundam statue. We only visited DiverCity though. But we missed out on many things, such as the Ramen Museum in AquaCity and the One Piece restaurant in Fuji TV Station.

Gundamn store. My favourite anime when I was young. Really brought back memories when in the shop^^

Went to an indoor theme park, JoyPolis, in Decks. We had to pay entrance fee and also had to pay for the rides inside.

Walked around DiverCity. So many unique shops, such as the Calbee factory and Hello Kitty shop.

Settled for some random ramen restaurant at the top floor. which was disappointing.

The Rainbow bridge which wasn't really.. rainbowish.

Day 7
This was a pretty impromptu and packed day.

Started off by walking Toffee in a sakura park near our house. It was lovely. So cooling and the view was perfect. Sat there for about 10 minutes.

Went to the Meiji Shrine (Yoyogi)Initial plan was to go to Yoyogi Park afterwhich but we couldn't find it. (the next time I went back, I realised it was just beside Meiji Shrine -_-)

Headed to Harajuku instead. The shops were all so pretty and "insta-worthy". The fashion sense is really wow, ranging from street brands, to vintage, to kawaii, to classy.

The best ramen in our entire trip. (Y)

Walked over to Shibuya which was just nearby. Finally saw the Shibuya crossing. It may just be like a normal road crossing but there's just something so mesmerizing and calming about it.

Hachiko statue. We got lost trying to find it but actually it's really easy to find it. It's at the Hachiko Exit (in Shibuya train station)

Went over to Hikarie mall (in Shibuya) for some resting. Bought cheese croquett and my first time eating Acai Bowl. It's pretty sweet at first but it is so refreshing and addictive afterwards!

Took a train over to Shin-Okubo to visit the Koreantown. We were runinng out of money by this time so had this 250Y (SGD4) gyudon. It's really the cheapest meal ever.

From there, we walked back to Shinjuku and back home! ^^

Day 8

Our breakfast. Bought from 7-11! It was really yummy and a good way to start the day!

Went back to Asakusa for the Ms Bunny Cafe! Got lost for quite a long time before finding this shop.

We paid a total of 3600Y (SGD43) to play with a bunny for 30 minutes. I don't know how it works but I think it is, one group is entitled to one bunny. We chose one, Chibi (meaning small in Japanese). She was just 3 months old and the youngest of the lot! Extra 300Y for bunny treats but she didn't want to eat it! :( gave it to the older and bigger bunnies in the cages instead.

Went to walk around Asakusa again and went back for the mochi balls+green tea^^ So refreshing I love the green tea!

Back to Akihabara again for the AKB48 cafe. The cheesecake is super yummy.

Menu changed slightly because of one member "graduating" from AKB48.

Day 9
Wanted to go to Tokyo Disneyland earlier but I wanted be there for the easter season (started on 2 April)

Cinderella's castle. (different castles in different Disneylands belong to different princesses!)

Sadly, it was raining super heavily that day. It is always good to check the weather forecast everyday. However, we didn't have any other days to go so we just went ahead.

Thanks to my dajie, I can fully appreciate the "Disney magic". It's not all about playing the rides but sinking into the atmosphere.

Went into Cinderella's castle.

A visit to Disney is completely useless if you didn't see the fireworks at night.

I love Disney. My childhood! The princesses, Lilo& stitch, etc.

Day 10
Lone day out today.

Brunch in a shop in Shinjuku. Super nice omg!! The soup was just slurppz super smooth and fragant.

Look at the sakura flowers flying^^!

Went to Yoyogi Park. So gladdd I went. If Ueno park was good, this was better!! (The best I saw will be tomorrow!)

Headed back to Harajuku Takeshita Street to do some shopping. It's sort of the Bugis Street of Tokyo I guess!

It began raining so I went back to Shinjuku for dinner. Best katsudon in my whole trip! :D (SG$13)

Saw this as prizes for the UFO catcher machines. Erm... I certainly won't try to get it.

Day 11
Lone day out part two.

Started my day right with this yummy Cafe Mocha. It was realllllly cheap as compared to Singapore's prices. (SG$3.50) My favourite cafe in Tokyo. Cafe Veloce. Cheaper and a much more quieter ambience than Starbucks. Spent about 2 hours just sitting down, listening to music and drawing. Super relax. What a taitai life. If only I can do this forever.

This is probably my best day in Tokyo! Wanted to head to Tokyo-Edo Architecture Museum in Hana-Koganei (Seibu-Shinjuku line). I got super lost but I ended up in this super quaint, beautiful town that isn't commercialised. Everyone there were locals just doing their thing.

I was so happy. Just spent an hour or 2 just walking through the never-ending stretch of road lined with sakura trees. I threw away the thought of visiting the Museum. Such a sight can't be found in Singapore but it is totally my kind of life!

Rewarded myself with cake and coffee at this little hut I walked past. It was so homely. The place was run by an old lady. The cakes were really made fresh everyday! The coffee was brewed the old style way, by using the filter. Enjoyed my time just eating my cake and coffee while looking at the beautiful view and can't believe that I found this beautiful place. I loved it, if only I could stay there a couple of nights!

It was time to leave though.. :'(

wanted to go to Meguro River before the office hour crowd. The crowd is CRAZY. I didn't manage to experience the staff pushing me in the trains but the passengers themselves would push themselves in and you literally have no space to breathe and it's like you're floating!! -_- can't imagine office hour crowd..

Meguro River is popular for its illumination of sakura trees at night. It was lovely but what I experienced in the day was so much better compared to this.

Headed back to our hotel for 2 nights, Citadines. I was super satisfied today ^^

Day 12
Lone day part 3.

Hearty breakfast with apple juice. I love the 7-11 cos they sell hot food in the morning. Breakfasts should be BIG in order to have energy for the rest of the day.

Had oden on the way out. Hot soup in the cold weather = the most shiok thing EVER. Love it, I can drink this everyday.

Walked around our hotel and went to Cafe Veloce for my teatime. ^^ The weather dropped to the lowest so far in my trip, 9 degrees. Was too cold (and lazy also) to go out. So just went to walk around Shinjuku for a while, before going back to the hotel to snuggle up in my thick blankets^^

Dinner nearby our hotel. Curry rice with beef. So nice and it warms up the body. So shiok. I love this life!! Just eating nearby the hotel and having time to yourself. ^^ no cares in the world. No time limits, no restrictions.

Day 13
It's finally the last day of our holidays! We extended our trip. supposed to go back on the 5th but extended till 8th.

Bittersweet feelings. Sweet: 1) My complexion was damn bad due to the dry weather. Didn't know dry weather could cause breakouts... 2) I miss home! Japan coldness is shiok but I prefer wearing tee and shorts and perspiring in Singapore. Bitter: 1)I'm gonna miss being a tourist and being lost in a foreign land. You get to see so many things you never planned to. 2) Miss the free time and not having to report to anyone. 3) The "me" time in Tokyo which is really rare in Singapore for me.

Ramen breakfast near Shinjuku train station.

Went to Shibuya PARCO mall. Level 6 was the One Piece store. If I were fan (again), I would go crazy and probably be in tears LOL. #drama.

Ordered the clam chowder, swiss roll (for photo purposes) and pancakes. ^^

The food was so "insta-worthy" again! :D So pretty and so much details put into the food decoration.

Main point was to visit the Kiki & Lala cafe I saw online. The queue was super long, about 2 hours wait. Didn't want to queue because we were scared to miss the Airport Limousine Bus back to Narita Airport. But since we were here, and I really wanted to eat it, and I would feel so uneasy if I didn't eat it, and we had no idea where to go next, we went to join the queue. It was crazy! Waiting 2 hours to eat. -_- but it was so worth it!

It was time to go home now.. back to our real home!! :( Dragged our heavy luggages 20 minutes to Shinjuku station. The first time I perspired in Japan!! And back we go... to Singapore! :(

-------------------
Trip 3 was so fulfilling. But I don't think I would visit Tokyo any time soon.. Maybe Hokkaido. I love travelling. I wish you would understand... Now.. it's time for Trip 4! 29 April to HONGKONG. Love it.
